Is the BAIJIALI Portable Radio worth it?
A top pick in Electronics on Amazon (#10 when we checked, Nov 7, 2026)
Worth it if This is worth it if you want a compact radio with AM, FM, and shortwave bands, a clear 5W speaker, simple physical controls, and rechargeable or USB power for home, travel, or an emergency kit.
Good to know: If you need water resistance or a radio with clearly specified long-term battery performance, look for a model that states those needs directly.
A portable radio with simple controls and flexible power
The BAIJIALI Portable Radio makes its case with a straightforward design choice: physical controls instead of a complicated interface. The large channel tuner, volume buttons, and AM/FM/SW selector give you direct control when you want to switch on the radio, find a station, and leave your phone elsewhere.
The listing pairs those controls with a telescopic antenna and a DSP anti-jamming chip. The maker says this setup is intended to improve sensitivity across FM, AM, and shortwave bands, though reception can still vary with terrain and atmospheric conditions. That gives you one compact unit for music, news, traffic information, talk, and sports broadcasts without limiting you to FM alone.
Power is the other practical choice. The built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery lets the radio work away from an outlet, while USB-C power supports use in a bedroom, kitchen, or office. The radio can also be used while charging. The supplied guidance says charging takes approximately four to six hours, and a solid red charging light is normal for this model. That removes one small source of confusion during setup.
You get one compact unit with AM, FM, and shortwave reception, a 5W speaker, physical controls, an included rechargeable battery, and two power options. It can cover everyday listening and give an emergency or camping kit a dedicated radio without needing a separate tuner and speaker.
Great for
- Listeners who want AM, FM, and shortwave in one compact radio
- Anyone who prefers large physical tuning and volume controls
- Bedrooms, kitchens, offices, travel, and emergency kits
- Campers who want rechargeable battery or USB operation
Maybe not for you if
- You need a water-resistant radio for wet outdoor use
- You need clearly stated long-term battery performance
- You prefer app-based or digital streaming features
The BAIJIALI Portable Radio is a sensible fit for listeners who want direct controls, broad AM/FM/SW coverage, and a speaker designed for clear everyday listening. Its rechargeable battery and USB operation make it practical around the house or away from an outlet, while the compact body and handle support carrying. Reception can vary by location, and it is not water resistant, so match it to indoor, travel, camping, or emergency-kit use in suitable conditions. For simple broadcast listening, it offers a clear, useful setup.
Amazon shoppers rate it 4.2 out of 5 across 3,226 ratings. That is their number, not ours.
