Is the Frigidaire Fridge Water Filter Worth It?
Worth It — But Confirm Your Fridge Model and Filter Length First
Worth it or skip it?
Worth it if
- Your Frigidaire is the listed DGUS2635LP model, or your old filter measures 9 inches and is labeled WF3CB.
Skip it if
- Your old filter is labeled ultraWF or runs longer than 9 inches, which means it's the wrong part.
- Your Frigidaire model isn't the listed DGUS2635LP, so you haven't confirmed fit yet.
Key facts
WF3CB cartridge lengthConfirms fit only if your old filter is also 9 inches, not the longer ultraWF cartridge.
Right Filter, Right Fridge
If your fridge is the listed DGUS2635LP model, or your old filter measures 9 inches and reads WF3CB, this swap is straightforward and worth ordering.
Buy on AmazonBefore You Order a Replacement Filter
You pull the old cartridge out of your Frigidaire dispenser, ready to order a replacement before the water starts tasting flat.
Two Filters, One Confusing Name
The WF3CB is a 9-inch cartridge that slides into the filter housing and locks with a firm push. Frigidaire specifically warns not to confuse it with the longer ultraWF filter, since the two share a similar name but aren't interchangeable.
Match the length and label first, and this filter drops into place without any guesswork.
Before you choose
How do I know if I need WF3CB or the longer ultraWF filter?
WF3CB measures 9 inches; ultraWF runs longer. Check your old cartridge's length before ordering to avoid the wrong part.
Is this filter certified for contaminant reduction?
Yes, it holds NSF 42 certification for taste and odor, and NSF 53 certification for contaminants with health effects.
How will I know when to replace the filter?
Frigidaire rates it for 200 gallons and pairs it with an indicator light, but you reset that light manually by holding the dispenser's filter button.
