Is the Apple iPhone 14 worth it?

A compact iPhone with an OLED display that keeps everyday viewing clear

The Apple iPhone 14 puts its money into a familiar, compact setup: a 6.1-inch OLED display, Apple’s A15 Bionic processor and 128GB of storage. The display is the first thing you notice in daily use. OLED technology and a 2532 x 1170 resolution give you a sharp screen for browsing, photos and video, while the 60Hz refresh rate keeps the specification straightforward rather than flashy.

That screen sits in a 172g bar-shaped phone with a touchscreen interface and Face Recognition for unlocking. The practical effect is a manageable handset that keeps the main controls familiar. It is unlocked for all carriers, so the phone is not tied to one wireless provider. Dual SIM support and eSIM capability also give you flexibility when your carrier setup supports them.

The A15 Bionic chip handles the phone’s iOS 16 software, while 128GB gives you room for apps, photos and video. The camera system includes 12MP front and rear sensors, High Dynamic Range, 4K video capture and Action mode for smoother handheld video, according to the listing. That is the useful distinction here: a compact unlocked iPhone with solid core hardware, rather than a phone built around a long list of niche extras.
