Is the TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G worth it?
A top pick in Cell Phones on Amazon (#1 when we checked, Oct 3, 2026)
Worth it if you want an unlocked 5G Android phone for reading, streaming, calls, and everyday apps, especially if a glare-free, paper-like display matters to you. Its 6.8-inch 120Hz screen, 256GB storage, dual SIM support, and 5010mAh battery give you a useful mix for daily work and travel.
Good to know: If you need a smaller phone or a display with a different visual style, look for a model whose size and screen technology match those priorities.
A glare-free phone display built for easier everyday viewing
The TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G makes its case with the screen. The 6.8-inch display uses NXTPAPER 3.0 technology for a glare-free, paper-like surface, while the Eye Care Assistant can adjust brightness and color temperature to your surroundings and remind you to take breaks. That gives the phone a clear daily purpose: less visual distraction when you are reading, browsing, or handling messages for a long stretch.
The NXTPAPER Key turns that idea into something you can change quickly. Standard Mode keeps the display crisp for ordinary phone use. Color Paper Mode softens the look for comics and digital art, Ink Paper Mode supports reading, and Max Ink Mode provides an e-reader-like experience with longer battery life. You are not locked into one presentation for every task.
The rest of the package supports that screen-first design. You get 5G, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 8GB RAM plus 8GB virtual RAM, and 256GB of storage that can expand to 2TB. The 5010mAh battery, 18W charging, and 5W reverse charging also suit long workdays and travel. This is a phone for buyers who want a more comfortable viewing experience without giving up modern connectivity or useful storage.
You get a full everyday phone package rather than a screen-only device: 5G, 256GB storage, expandable memory, dual SIM support, cameras, NFC, a headphone jack, and reverse charging. That range can cover work, reading, entertainment, and travel in one device.
Great for
- Readers who want Ink Paper or Max Ink display modes
- Commuters and travelers who value a large battery and reverse charging
- Everyday users needing 5G, 256GB storage, and expandable memory
- People managing personal and work lines with dual SIM support
- Buyers who still want a 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC
Maybe not for you if
- You prefer a smaller screen and a more compact phone
- You need compatibility confirmed for a particular SIM or prepaid plan
- You want a display style other than a glare-free, paper-like screen
The TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G is a strong fit for readers, commuters, students, and everyday users who spend plenty of time looking at their phone and want a glare-free, paper-like display. The four display modes add flexibility, while 5G, 256GB storage, dual SIM support, a 5010mAh battery, and expandable storage keep the package practical. Check carrier and plan compatibility before buying, especially with prepaid or MVNO service. For the right buyer, it makes long phone sessions more comfortable and useful.
Amazon shoppers rate it 4.2 out of 5 across 43 ratings. That is their number, not ours.
