How I think about this

Animals are the most honest product testers there are: they ignore what doesn't work and destroy what isn't built for them. So I read pet gear for exactly that — will it survive the chewer, actually calm the anxious one, genuinely make the mess smaller? Cute counts for nothing here.

I look at materials, the way it's meant to work, and the failure everyone in the reviews keeps hitting, then tell you whether it earns a place in a house with an animal in it. I research rather than test, and I'm upfront about that.
