That extra density means text renders with cleaner edges and small UI elements stop looking fuzzy, but only if your eyes are close enough to notice, which for most desks is inside about two feet.

Spec sheets don't lie, but they do mumble: past that distance, the eye stops resolving the gap, and you're paying for sharpness you can't see. That's the part no listing spells out.

The other cost is bandwidth. Native 4K at 60Hz needs HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.2 at minimum.
