It cannot rebuild the collagen your skin has lost, no cream applied from outside can do that job. What it can do is trap water underneath that film, and hydrated skin genuinely does look firmer and smoother, because plumped cells reflect light more evenly and fine dehydration lines fill in temporarily. So the firms and reduces wrinkles claim is doing real work, just not the work the name implies: it's an optical, hydration driven softening, refreshed daily, not a structural rebuild that lasts once you stop applying it.
