Donner DED-70 Electronic Drum Kit Review for Young Beginners
Worth it, with one equipment catch
Worth it or skip it?
Worth it if
- The player is roughly 6–14, needs headphone-based practice, and the folded rack fits your storage space.
Skip it if
- You need a speaker-ready setup without buying a separate power amplifier.
Key facts
Folded rack dimensionsMeasure the storage spot before buying; this is the stated folded size.
A sensible beginner fit, if measured first
Choose it for a roughly 6–14-year-old beginner who needs headphone practice and has room for the folded rack. Plan separately for amplification if speakers matter; the kit does not list one.
Buy on AmazonWhen the room needs to recover
After practice, the young drummer folds the metal rack down instead of leaving a full kit occupying the room.
A beginner-sized setup with a clear audio caveat
The DED-70 pairs four 6.5-inch dual-layer mesh heads and three 9-inch silicone cymbals with a collapsible, height-adjustable rack. Included headphones support quiet rehearsal, while speaker output requires a separate power amplifier.
That makes the kit practical for headphone-led practice—provided its folded footprint fits and shared listening is not the plan.
Before you choose
Can the DED-70 be practiced quietly?
Yes. Included headphones support silent rehearsal; external speakers or amplifiers are an alternative for shared listening.
Is the rack adjustable for children?
The seller states that the rack adjusts for young players ages 6–14 and folds to 24.4 × 10.6 × 35.4 inches.
Does it include a speaker?
No speaker is listed. Sound output requires a power amplifier; headphones are included.
