Is Advion Cockroach Gel Bait Worth It?

Here's the part the can of spray never tells you: killing the roach you can see does nothing about the ones you can't. Advion is a gel bait, not a killer-on-contact, and that's the whole design choice. You place small dots of it along the routes roaches actually travel, behind the fridge, under the sink, along baseboards, in the cracks where pipes come through the wall, and a roach eats it and doesn't die on the spot. It walks off, keeps moving through the nest for hours, and dies there. Other roaches, being roaches, feed on its droppings and its corpse, and the bait passes through them too. That's the mechanism: one fed roach becomes a slow, quiet delivery system into a colony you were never going to find on your own. It's why the label allows use in food handling areas and both indoor and outdoor sites, since it's a targeted placement product, not a fog or spray that drifts. The tradeoff is patience. You're not watching roaches drop, you're watching them disappear over days as the nest itself thins out.
