Is the HP 923 Black 4-Pack worth it?
A top pick in Office Electronics on Amazon (#9 when we checked, Oct 9, 2026)
Worth it if This is worth it if you have a listed compatible HP OfficeJet and want a genuine CMYK set for everyday documents, with approximately 500 black pages and 400 pages per color. The four-cartridge pack suits home offices, students, and small businesses that want replacement ink ready to install.
Good to know: If your printer is not one of the listed HP OfficeJet models, check its exact compatibility before choosing this cartridge set.
Genuine HP ink for steady everyday printing
The 4pm test for printer ink is simple: does the replacement fit your printer and keep ordinary work moving? HP 923 Black gives you a genuine four-cartridge CMYK set, so black and color replacements arrive together rather than as separate purchases.
The key design choice is genuine model-specific compatibility. The listing names the OfficeJet 8122e and OfficeJet Pro 8135e, 8138e, and 8139e. Because these cartridges are made for those printers, the purchase is aimed at a straightforward replacement process, with the manufacturer describing the ink as engineered for consistent quality and reliability. Check the exact printer model first. Compatibility is where this decision is made.
The set also separates its approximate yields by ink type: 500 pages for black and 400 pages for each color. That gives you a clearer idea of what the pack is designed to cover across routine paper printing, rather than treating all four cartridges as identical. The result is a practical supply for documents, schoolwork, home administration, and small-business printing. The listing describes the ink as water-based and intended for plain paper, with multiple colors included when your printer needs them.
You get four genuine cartridges in one set, including approximately 500 black pages and 400 pages per color. That makes the pack useful for replacing the full CMYK supply at once instead of shopping for each cartridge separately.
Great for
- HP OfficeJet 8122e owners needing a complete CMYK replacement set
- HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e, 8138e, or 8139e users

Maybe not for you if

- You need ink for a printer other than the named HP OfficeJet models
The HP 923 Black 4-Pack is a sensible choice for owners of the listed HP OfficeJet models who want genuine replacement ink for regular home, office, school, or small-business printing. Its main value is practical: one CMYK pack, clear approximate yields, and a cartridge type designed for the compatible printers. Confirm your exact model before ordering, especially if it is not listed. For the right HP OfficeJet, this keeps everyday printing supplied with less shopping between replacements.
