Is the Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 worth it?
A top pick in Industrial & Scientific on Amazon (#2 when we checked, Oct 3, 2026)
Worth it if you want one compact daily-carry tool for utility-knife work plus basic screwdriving and wire stripping. The Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 adds a folding 1/4-inch bit holder, reversible Phillips #2 and slotted 1/4-inch bit, and a belt clip to a 4.96-ounce tool.
Good to know: If your work calls for a larger blade selection or a dedicated screwdriver that stays under frequent heavy use, look for tools built around those jobs.
A 6-in-1 utility knife that keeps common jobs together
A utility knife earns its place when it handles the small jobs that interrupt bigger ones. The Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 combines a folding 1/4-inch bit holder with a reversible Phillips #2 and slotted 1/4-inch bit, so opening a package, tightening a Phillips screw, or turning a slotted screw can happen from the same compact tool.
The folding holder is the key design choice. It keeps the bit function part of the knife rather than requiring a second loose screwdriver in your pocket. That makes the tool useful for daily carry, especially when the job shifts from cutting to fastening. The listing also includes a wire stripper, while the blade holder is designed for scoring, adding two more task-specific functions without changing the basic carry format.
A durable wire belt clip is designed to reduce pocket tearing, and the tool has a folded size of 6 inches with a listed weight of 4.96 ounces. Those details matter during repeated carry: the tool stays organized on a belt or in a pocket instead of becoming another loose item in the bottom of a bag. You get one tool, one reversible bit, and several common functions ready for the next small repair.
The value is in combining a utility knife, basic two-way screwdriver function, wire stripper, scoring holder, and belt clip in one 1-count tool. That can reduce the number of separate small tools you need for everyday jobs.
Great for
- Daily carry for package opening and quick fixes
- Tradespeople who want basic screwdriving close at hand
- Belt carry where a wire clip is useful
- Small repair jobs involving Phillips or slotted screws
- Users who want a utility knife with wire-stripping capability
Maybe not for you if
- You need a broad selection of spare blades in the tool
- You want a dedicated screwdriver for frequent heavy fastening
- You prefer a single-purpose utility knife
The Milwaukee Fastback 6-in-1 makes sense for anyone who wants a compact utility knife that does more than cut. Its folding bit holder, reversible Phillips and slotted bit, wire stripper, scoring-focused blade holder, and belt clip cover a useful set of everyday tasks. At 4.96 ounces and a listed folded size of 6 inches, it is suited to daily carry without becoming a full toolbox replacement. Choose it for practical convenience and quick access to several small functions in one tool.
