Is the DREO Air Purifier 338 worth it?
A top pick in Heating, Cooling & Air Quality on Amazon (#3 when we checked, Nov 4, 2026)
Worth it if It is worth considering if you want a compact purifier for a bedroom or other room up to 178 square feet, with a 3-in-1 filter, PM2.5 monitoring, automatic adjustment, and a quiet Sleep Mode. The AHAM-verified 115 CFM CADR gives you a clear performance figure to compare.
Good to know: If you need to purify a larger room with the listed 4.8 ACH coverage, look for a model rated for more than 178 square feet.
A compact air purifier that adjusts to changing air
The DREO Air Purifier 338 makes daily air care easier through its real-time PM2.5 sensor and Auto Mode. The sensor tracks indoor particle levels, while the display shows an AQI reading from 1 to 999 and the indicator light changes among four colors. You get a visible cue about the room instead of relying only on a timer or guesswork.
That reading feeds into Auto Mode. As air quality changes, the purifier adjusts its speed, increasing cleaning power when conditions decline and reducing speed when they improve. The cause and effect is practical: the machine responds to the room rather than running at one fixed setting all day. You can also choose Turbo, Normal, or Sleep Mode, with four adjustable speeds available.
The 3-in-1 filter adds a pre-filter, high-efficiency filter, and activated carbon layer. The listing says this combination captures fine particles such as PM2.5, pollen, dust, and smoke, while helping reduce household odors. Its AHAM-verified CADR is 115 CFM, with listed coverage of up to 178 square feet at 4.8 air changes per hour. That makes the fit clearest for a bedroom or similarly sized space, where the compact 9.21-by-9.21-by-14.21-inch body can sit without taking over the room.
You get the purifier, one filter, a user manual, and three aroma pads, with one pad pre-installed. The combination of automatic control, air-quality feedback, four speeds, and a 3-in-1 filter gives you more than a basic fan-and-filter setup.
Great for
- Bedrooms and rooms up to 178 square feet
- Pet households managing everyday odors and particles
- Sleepers who want a display-free Sleep Mode
- Readers who want PM2.5 readings and automatic speed changes
- Small spaces needing four speeds and a compact footprint
Maybe not for you if
- You need 4.8 air changes per hour in a room larger than 178 square feet
- You want a purifier with confirmed Wi-Fi features
- You prefer a unit designed for a larger floor area
The DREO Air Purifier 338 is a sensible fit for bedrooms, pet households, and smaller rooms where dust, pollen, smoke, and household odors are concerns. Its strongest feature is the feedback loop: the PM2.5 sensor shows changing air quality, and Auto Mode responds without requiring constant adjustments. Sleep Mode turns off the display lights, while the 3-in-1 filter handles several common indoor particles and odors. Choose it when the 178-square-foot, 4.8-ACH coverage matches your room and you want clear controls without much daily fuss.
Amazon shoppers rate it 4.6 out of 5 across 525 ratings. That is their number, not ours.
