Is the BLACK+DECKER Easy Steam Compact Iron worth it?
A top pick in Irons & Steamers on Amazon (#6 when we checked, Oct 14, 2026)
Worth it if you want a compact clothes iron with automatic steam control, vertical steaming, and a 230 mL easy-fill tank. The BLACK+DECKER Easy Steam Compact Iron also gives you spray mist, steam burst, and a cord designed to stay out of the way.
Good to know: If you need the most reassurance around long-term leak resistance, look for a model with a maintenance and durability record that better matches your priorities.
A compact iron that puts steam where wrinkles are
The BLACK+DECKER Easy Steam Compact Iron makes its case with the soleplate and the way it handles steam. Its stainless soleplate is designed to distribute steam from heel to tip, so moisture reaches more of the garment as you move across it. That gives you a practical way to work through wrinkles without relying on one small steaming area.
Smart Steam Control automatically regulates steam based on the temperature setting you select. The benefit is less guesswork when switching between fabric settings. Add the side-by-side spray mist and steam burst buttons, and you can choose a light mist or a stronger burst when a crease needs more attention.
The 230 mL tank is a useful match for the compact 10-by-5.3-inch body. It is designed for easy filling and offers substantial capacity for the iron's size. The dual-position cord can toggle down to stay out of the way, while vertical steam gives you another option for garments that are hanging. The listing also includes a precision point soleplate for working around collars, buttons, and creases. The photo won't tell you this, but the daily benefit is simple: several small controls work together to make ordinary ironing less fiddly.
You get one compact iron with automatic steam control, vertical steam, spray mist, a steam burst, a 230 mL tank, and a cord designed to stay clear. That makes it a practical replacement for a basic iron plus separate wrinkle-touch-up tools.
Great for
- Small laundry areas where a compact 10-by-5.3-inch iron is useful
- Daily clothing care with temperature-based steam control
- Garments needing a mist, steam burst, or vertical touch-up
- Shoppers who want a 230 mL tank in a compact iron
Maybe not for you if
- You want a model chosen mainly for a strong long-term leak record
- You need more than the included iron and its built-in steam features
- Your priority is a larger iron rather than a compact design
The BLACK+DECKER Easy Steam Compact Iron suits shoppers who want straightforward clothing care in a compact format. Its stainless soleplate spreads steam from heel to tip, Smart Steam matches steam to your selected temperature, and the 230 mL tank keeps filling simple. Vertical steam, spray mist, a burst button, and a precision point add useful flexibility for daily garments. If long-term leak resistance is your main concern, compare that priority carefully. For routine wrinkle removal, this is a capable, space-conscious choice.
