How I think about this
A bag looks its best in the product shot and its worst on the third trip, when the zip gives, the wheel seizes, or the "lightweight" shell cracks in the hold. I care about that third trip: how it's built, where the stress lands, and whether it'll still be rolling straight a year of travel from now.
So I read the materials, the wheels and the warranty for what they really mean, and tell you plainly whether the pricier case earns it or the cheaper one is fine. I research rather than fly every bag around myself, and I'm upfront about that.
